My Story
My Story….
I love the outdoors, especially sand and salt air. I love my dogs and would do just about anything for them. And I am fascinated with how the body moves and heals. The more I learn, the more I want to know. The more I study in research and in life, the more I want to share. I got into this field because I believe the body is meant to move and wants to be in a state of health if only we learn to listen to it 🙂

Mindful Movement: An Urban Holiday Retreat

MOVE MINDFULLY. AN URBAN HOLIDAY RETREAT
Yoga*Movement*Meditation*Reflection
December can be a busy and month with heightened feelings. During these times we sometimes default to movement patterns that may create tension or discomfort in the body, without even knowing why its happening. Or we get on our yoga mat to practice and just go into autopilot.
THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, TREAT YOURSELF TO SOME PRECIOUS ME-TIME WITH MINDFUL MOVEMENT IN A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT.
What is mindful movement? Mindful movement is moving your body and placing attention/focus on the body and the breath. How it feels as you move in and out of yoga poses. How the breath facilitates or restricts movement. Using awareness to link movement with breath (vinyasa), to move with greater ease.
Take some time this holiday season to step away from the hustle and bustle, and to come into the present moment, move your body with awareness, and breath. This mini retreat includes:
~ meditation/body scan
~ 1 hr yoga/movement practice (with an extra long savasana)
~pranayama (breath practicing)
~reflection time
In addition, everyone will receive a notebook to reflect in and there will be light refreshments provided.
YOUR INVESTMENT: $150. Book before Dec 16th for $140.
Want to GIFT the opportunity for MINDFUL MOVEMENT to a loved one? ~ GIFT CERTIFICATES available

Core Strength What comes to mind when you hear “core strength”? Crunches, planks, double leg lowering? 6 packs and 8 packs? Anything that works the abs? Well, if you have ever hurt your back, you may have noticed that a lot of the “traditional” ab exercises might actually make you worse. Lets extend beyond traditional …

Why I’m providing a donation (dana) option for my yoga classes
I’ve been teaching yoga for what I feel is a long time….. I did my first 200hr YTT in 2003. I fell in love with Ashtanga and like any relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs and a few little breakups, but I’ve always come back to it. In more recent years, the way I’ve …
